From 16 to 20 April, Giffoni's Multimedia Valley will host the first edition of Giffoni Shock five intense days where innovation, creativity, change and sharing will be the keywords. The project has been realised by the Giffoni team under the artistic direction of Luca Apolito, the curator of the event is Gianvincenzo Nastasi, while the coordination is entrusted to the general director Jacopo Gubitosi.

On Wednesday 17 April, the deepest certainties will be questioned with 'It is not true that we want to be happy'. Discussing this with 250 young people, aged 18 to 30, will be Michele Mezzanotte, psychotherapist and populariser. It continues, also on Wednesday, with Vera Gheno, sociolinguist and populariser who deals with issues of gender, diversity, equity and inclusion. Thursday, 18 April, on the other hand, starts with the assumption 'It is not true that we are creative'. Protagonists: Cristiano Godano, musician, singer-songwriter, writer and frontman of the band Marlene Kuntz; Stefano Bartezzaghi, writer, literary critic, professor at the Iulm University in Milan and journalist.

Also on Thursday, the Deloitte Foundation will present the documentary Un punto preciso. At the end of the screening, Marco Martinelli, science popularizer and tiktoker, will be talking to the students. "It is not true that we like others" is the deliberately irreverent statement that will guide the day on Friday 19 April. And talking about this with the public will be Marianna Mammone, aka BIGMAMA, rapper who just returned from the last Sanremo festival. And again on the same day it will be the turn of Jonathan Bazzi, dazzling star of fiction. Marilena Umuhoza Delli, photographer, author, director and human rights activist, will close. During Giffoni Shock, a section of the project will be dedicated to a residential workshop that will see the formation of a collective of twelve young artists. On the programme will be a selection of unpublished works representing the new forms and frontiers of contemporary artistic expression from Italy, the United States, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Iran, Taiwan, Ukraine, France, India, Spain, Brazil and Algeria. In addition, the Youth Panel, consisting of approximately forty young people aged between 14 and 18, is scheduled to take part in the event.

On the occasion of the launch of the new format Claudio Gubitosi, Giffoni Film Festival's historic director and founder, emphasises how "we are still waiting for the signature of the agreement between the Government and the Campania Region on the Development and Cohesion Funds. This month will be decisive, hopefully decisive. The Giffoni team continues to work with its usual enthusiasm and passion to define the programme of the 54th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, scheduled from 19 to 28 July. We hope, as soon as possible, to be able to reassure thousands of young people, families and the many national and international partners who have made us feel all their affection during this time".
