Lega: Giorgetti, there are problems; only those who have broad support should join the team

Up front? “I’ve always played as a goalkeeper”

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Within the League, ‘not everything is going well, because we can clearly see that we have problems. We’re here to improve, and it’s perfectly understandable that if in Bergamo, where they were used to getting 50 per cent, they now get 20 per cent, they get angry and ask themselves why. So the evidence is crystal clear.” So said the Minister for the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, speaking from the stage at the Lega congress. And here he put forward his proposal: “I’m simply saying,” he continued, “let’s bring into the team those who have demonstrated on the ground that they can win support. Together with the secretary, this will help shape the project.” As for the idea of a Lega that goes ‘on the attack’, the Minister for the Economy and Finance smiles: ‘Unfortunately, I’ve always played in goal; it’s part of my character. If you need a goalkeeper, I’ll be there; if not, let the others take the lead.’
