Budget: Giorgetti says approval this week; Italia’s economy is resilient to the storm
‘We’re not big spenders’
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - With regard to the forthcoming Budget Bill, ‘which we will approve next week, we are awaiting the finalisation of the margins and the deviation clause by the EU’. So said the Minister for the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, during a video link with the general assembly of the Compagnia delle Opere. As a government, he claimed, “we have brought a purely realistic perspective to all international and European forums”, where in some cases “we were not considered prudent” but rather “spendthrifts”. On the contrary, “I believe the Italian position is balanced, and I hope it will remain so in the medium term” because “stormy weather is always on the horizon”.
