Google: EU Court of Justice upholds record fine of 4.1 billion for Android
The company’s appeal has been dismissed
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The Court of Justice of the European Union has dismissed Google’s appeal against the record fine of €4.1 billion imposed by Brussels in 2018 for abuse of a dominant position in the mobile telephony sector. “The appeal lodged by Google and its parent company Alphabet has been dismissed, thereby confirming the fine imposed for Google Search’s abuse of a dominant position within the Android operating system,” announced the Court, based in Luxembourg, in a statement.
