'Deep values, respect for one's roots and a clear vision of the future: this is the spirit that unites Nardini, Italy's oldest distillery founded in 1779, and Domenis 1898, a historic distillery in Friuli known for the quality of its distillates and for an authentic identity firmly rooted in the territory'.
With these words a new step in Distilleria Nardini's growth path is announced, 'aimed at strengthening its presence in the premium segment and further enhancing the culture of grappa of excellence'.
Domenis 1898, 2.5 million turnover 2024, thus becomes part of the Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza) group, turnover pre-acquisition of 12.5 million. "The operation," the company announced, "allows us to expand the offer aimed at the high-end consumer through a brand of great value such as Storica Nera, the iconic product of Domenis, known and appreciated for its quality and recognisability.
The acquisition - as part of a strategy of pursuing 'structured growth of the group, both organically and by external lines' - aims to 'enhance Domenis without distorting its identity'. In fact, production will remain in Cividale del Friuli, respecting the company's territorial roots and traditional techniques, starting with the exclusive use of Friulian pomace and the boiler system.
Distilleria Nardini envisages "targeted investments to make the plant even more efficient and sustainable, guaranteeing continuity, production quality and the employment of local labour". At the same time, "the operation will allow the group to strengthen its presence in the on-trade channel, historically presided over by Domenis, activating organisational synergies capable of generating value".
