The Islands in Festival, in the Italian summer. In Sicily, in the enchanting medieval village of Castelbuono, we have now reached the 28th edition of the Ypsigrock Festival, a landmark of indie culture. In north-eastern Sardinia, the 38th edition of Time in Jazz, which always begins with a musical crossing from Livorno to Olbia and traditionally ends in the environmental oasis of Peschiera di San Teodoro. Those staying in Milan will find cultural and entertainment projects in every municipality (except the first) until October.
Berchidda (SS)
Until the 16th the 38th edition of Time in Jazz. In the town, but also in other towns in Northern Sardinia, we will hear, among others, Stefano Bollani in trio, Enrico Rava, Trentemøller, Les Amazones d'Afrique, Simona Molinari, Paola Turci, Danilo Rea, and Nick The Nightfly. The festival kicks off on Saturday 9 with a 'classic' of every edition: the sea crossing in music from the port of Livorno (departure at 3.55 p.m.) to the Sardinian port of Golfo Aranci; accompanying the crossing are the Mefisto Brass.
But the Festival presents more than just concerts. There is 'Un'Ora in più' (An extra hour), created to give the festival's travelling audience the opportunity to get to know and discover the places that are the setting for the concerts, chosen for their particular historical, artistic, religious or environmental interest, through special guided tours, tastings of local products, or information points. And 'Time to Read', dedicated to meetings with books and their authors, scheduled between 11 and 14 August, in the spaces of Sa Casara in Berchidda. Finally, Time to Children, a project that for years has been dedicated to the musical education of girls and boys.
Castelbuono (PA)
.Until the 10th, the 28th Ypsigrock Festival, one of Italy's largest boutique festivals and a reference point for fans of indie culture. The medieval village is located an hour and a half from Palermo and about ten kilometres from the sea, in the Madonie Park. The main stage is Piazza Castello, enclosed by the ancient medieval arch, the grand staircase and the imposing Ventimiglia castle. Among the numerous artists, we can mention the new lyrical voice of British post-punk by English Teacher, the return of the legend of WU LYF, the most sincere face of UK indie with Divorce, the electronic dreams and cyberpop vibes of Yunè Pinku, the intimate and obscure atmospheres of Carpetman, and Milo Korbenski, considered one of the most enigmatic new names on the independent scene.
