Great place to work, in the global ranking Hilton, Dhl and Cisco among the best companies to work in
Italy is outside the top 25, which are dominated by American, German, Irish and British companies. Among sectors, IT dominates (32%), followed by manufacturing & production and financial & insurance services (12%)
Hilton, Dhl and Cisco top the 2025 edition of Great Place to Work's World's Best Workplaces ranking, which was conducted by listening to the views and opinions expressed by more than 9 million employees globally. In their territorial distribution, the top country represented is the United States where 64% of the world's best organisations are based, ahead of Germany (12%), Ireland and the United Kingdom (4%). What stands out, however, is the fact that Italy is excluded from the top 25. Among sectors, IT dominates (32%), followed by manufacturing & production and financial & insurance services (12%).
The results, according to Alessandro Zollo, ceo of Great Place to Work Italia, should give us pause for thought: "The fact that no Italian company is present in this exclusive ranking, despite the fact that no less than 19 of the 25 organisations of excellence are based in Italy, confirms how the Italian managerial culture still has a limit with respect to the importance of learning to listen to and engage with the feedback of employees," he says.
On the top step of the podium is Hilton, an American company and global leader in the hotel and hospitality industry with a portfolio of 22 brands comprising almost 7,400 properties and more than 1.1 million rooms, in 124 countries and territories. In second place is DHL Express, Germany's leading global logistics company that connects people and markets, facilitating global trade. The DHL Group employs around 594,000 people in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. Rounding out the podium is yet another American company, Cisco, a leader in technologies that transform the way people connect, communicate and collaborate, through intelligent networks and architectures that integrate products, services and software platforms.
"The analysis of the 2025 edition of the World's Best Workplaces ranking shows the strong impact generated by these excellent organisations," explains Zollo. "Among the more than 9 million employees surveyed, there is an increasing number who say that their company trusts them and wants them to grow as people and professionals. These organisations are the same ones that outperform market benchmarks in terms of share value and growth and have a productivity that is extremely higher than the average of their competitors'.
Completing the ranking of the 25 best companies to work for in the world are Accenture, Marriott International, AbbVie, TP, Stryker, Salesforce, MetLife, ServiceNow, Specsavers, Siemens Healthineers, Experian, Nvidia, Cadence, Allianz, Dow, Viatris, Adobe, Crowdstrike, SC Johnson, Trek Bicycle, Hilti and Admiral Group.
