The Court of Cassation (judgment 4810/2025) clarified that if it is undoubted that the Teacher's Card in the amount of EUR 500 per year constitutes an economic benefit, it cannot but be agreed that it should be attributed to all teaching staff, including those belonging to the role of educators. The professional profile of educational staff is in fact made up of psycho-pedagogical, methodological and organisational-relational skills, which are interrelated and integrated, and which are developed through the maturing of educational experience and study and research activity. Within the area of the teaching function, the educational function participates in the process of training and educating pupils, within a coordinated framework of relations and agreements with school teachers and respect for the cultural and professional autonomy of educational staff. The educational function is carried out in an articulated series of activities that include the educational activity proper, the activities functional to it and the additional activities.
Assignment
.The Charter in question is therefore to be attributed to 'all' teaching staff, within whose sphere the educational staff assimilated to it may well be said to fall. This is because the teaching function is to be understood as the expression of the activity of transmitting culture, of contributing to its elaboration and of encouraging the participation of young people in this process and in the human and critical formation of their personality. In fact, the educational activity is aimed at promoting the processes of human, civil and cultural growth, as well as the socialisation of pupils, who are assisted and guided in their participation in the various moments of common life in the boarding school or educational institution. The same activity is aimed at organising studies and free time, cultural, sports and recreational initiatives, as well as defining the respective methodologies, also for the psycho-pedagogical and orientation aspects.
