Just a few hours after the presentation of the industrial plan to Mimit, it is the turn of Invitalia and Leonardo to make a move on Industria Italiana Autobus, and so the go-ahead arrives - from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy and from Invitalia - for the signing of the agreement that will lead to the entry of Seri Industrial into the capital of Industria Italiana Autobus with a controlling stake.
The decision comes after Leonardo and Invitalia, the current main shareholders of IIA, decided to accept the offer presented by Seri Industrial, a proposal that came at the end of a process initiated to identify an industrial partner to relaunch the Flumeri production site.
The agreement, explains the ministry note, guarantees the safeguarding of employment levels at the Flumeri and Bologna plants and provides for the implementation of an industrial plan focused on the production of electric buses and on strengthening the company's competitiveness.
Invitalia will remain the owner of a minority shareholding, but by virtue of the shareholders' pact that will be stipulated between the future shareholders, it will be granted a series of articulated veto rights over the company's strategic choices, to guarantee the public interest and the proper implementation of the business plan.
The strong discontent of the trade unions remains, opposed to the disengagement of the public partner and worried about the future of a factory that has not managed, despite tens of millions of investments over the years, to reach an acceptable level of efficiency, accumulating a heavy exposure with the credit world
