It is not too late.” These were the words of the Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Doron Spielman, speaking to ‘Sky News’, emphasising that London “can still remember who it once was” and “choose to return to being that nation”. “Stop focusing on Israel whilst we are building our homeland, and start focusing on your own country, because it is important for the world,” he added.

“Don’t make the same mistakes we did,” Joe Biden had told Benjamin Netanyahu, as he embraced him. It had been just a few days since Hamas’s attack on 7 October 2023 on the southern kibbutzim, on the border with Gaza, and the President had conveyed American solidarity and support to the Israeli Prime Minister.
Netanyahu would not have heeded the advice. He would have razed the Gaza Strip to the ground, causing 80,000 deaths, the vast majority of whom would have been civilians, with the bombs that Biden would never have stopped supplying. Israel would also have bombed six Arab capitals, struck Lebanon, and seized Syrian territory. And finally, it would have persuaded America to attack Iran to overthrow its brutal regime, only to end up strengthening it and triggering a global energy crisis.
Qatar condemns Iranian attacks on Jordan
“We condemn the resumption of Iranian attacks against Jordan and regard them as a violation of its sovereignty and of international law.” This was stated by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a post on ‘X’. “The continuation of Iranian aggression,” it emphasised, “represents an escalation that will complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine diplomatic efforts.” “We hold Iran fully legally responsible for this aggression and for all the repercussions and consequences arising from it. We stress the need to put an end to all military operations and acts of aggression that threaten the security and stability of the region,” it adds.

US Centcom: ‘No US ships have been hit; 10 Iranian oil tankers have been destroyed in the last week’
“No US Navy warships were hit; all attempts by the Pasdaran to attack them failed.” This statement was made by the US Central Command (Centcom) after the Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed to have struck two US Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East. “This claim is completely false,” Centcom emphasises. The US armed forces, however, it points out, “have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian oil tankers in the last week alone. These vessels were part of a multi-billion-dollar clandestine network used to finance the Revolutionary Guards, and Iran is unable to defend them”.

Hezbollah accuses the US ambassador to Lebanon
A member of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Ghaleb Abu Zeinab, has accused the US ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, of making “provocative” remarks and of seeking to “justify” the Israeli raids on Lebanon. This was reported in a statement released on Wednesday by the media office of the Iranian-backed armed resistance party, in response to remarks made in recent hours by the American diplomat. Abu Zeinab accuses Issa of adopting “Zionist” rhetoric and of “placing the blame for the crimes committed by the executioner on the victim”. As for the United States, Issa had said, there are “those who attacked and those who responded”, and one cannot define Israel as the aggressor “without recalling who started it first”: if Lebanon does not attack, he added, “the Israelis do not retaliate”, but if it does attack, they respond “forcefully”.
The leader of the Party of God accuses Washington of “covering up” the attacks by the Jewish state and of having given “the green light” to the Israeli occupying forces to continue their daily raids in southern Lebanon – which in recent days have caused several dozen deaths – as well as providing Israel with “weapons and political support” to extend its occupation over more than 600 square kilometres of Lebanese territory. Issa had also stated that he was acting in the interests of the Shia community, so that the south might “be returned to all its inhabitants” and everyone could return to their own village, whilst admitting, however, that it was difficult to “achieve a result” with a section of the community which, in his view, failed to understand how their own interests lay in “accepting their responsibilities”, in reference to the disarmament of Hezbollah. For Abu Zeinab, the ambassador’s remarks about the inhabitants of the south and their return to their villages are merely an attempt to “disguise the aggression”: a behaviour he describes as “hostile to humanity in Lebanon” and an expression of Washington’s “total alignment” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The recent intensification of raids by Israeli occupation forces in the Nabatiye region has caused around thirty deaths in just a few days, including an entire family killed during the night between Sunday and Monday in Kfar Remman.

Save the Children: attacks on education have risen by 40 per cent in two years
In the two-year period 2024–2025, attacks on education worldwide increased by over 40 per cent compared with the previous two-year period, with dramatic consequences for millions of children living in conflict zones. In many parts of the world, the intensification of conflicts, the increasing use of explosive weapons and the presence of unexploded ordnance are making access to education increasingly dangerous. This has been highlighted by Save the Children, which draws attention to the situation in a number of countries.
In Lebanon, “around 100,000 boys and girls are starting the new school year without a classroom in which to study”. In the Occupied Palestinian Territory, “the right to education of hundreds of thousands of children is seriously compromised. In Gaza, military attacks have damaged or destroyed much of the school infrastructure, with 97.5 per cent of school buildings damaged. Around 700,000 school-age children have been left without adequate access to education. In the West Bank, military operations, restrictions on movement, the demolition of schools and violence by settlers are making it increasingly difficult for over 834,000 pupils to access education safely and continuously. Around 420,000 children in Gaza still do not have access to face-to-face learning.”
In Sudan, “10.5 million children are in need of educational support and around 8 million school-age children have not yet returned to the classroom”. In Ukraine, “almost one in five schools (19 per cent) is forced to use a blended approach combining face-to-face and remote learning”.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, “between 2024 and 2025, 354 attacks on schools were recorded. As of June 2026, 261 schools were still closed due to the violence, affecting access to education for nearly 98,000 children”.

Shin Bet reportedly passed on warnings from Egypt to Netanyahu about a possible Hamas attack before 7 October
The Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service, is reported to have informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “the warnings received from their Egyptian counterparts regarding Hamas’s intentions to ‘shake the ground in Gaza’”. This is according to ‘Army Radio’ (Galei Tzahal), the Israeli radio station run by the IDF, the Israel Defence Forces. Meanwhile, reports are circulating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a warning from the United Arab Emirates regarding Hamas’s plans to launch a large-scale attack in the weeks leading up to the attack on 7 October 2023. Netanyahu has denied this latter report.
According to ‘Army Radio’, as reported by ‘The Times of Israel’, the Egyptians merely issued that general warning, without providing any specific details. In the days following the attack on 7 October, an Egyptian intelligence official, as reported by ‘The Times of Israel’, “stated that Jerusalem had ignored repeated warnings that the Gaza-based terrorist group was planning ‘something big’ — including an alleged direct communication from Cairo’s intelligence minister to the prime minister”.

Netanyahu sues Haaretz for defamation
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on X that he had instructed his lawyers to file a defamation claim against the newspaper Haaretz, journalist Shlomi Eldar and other parties involved, following the investigation by the Israeli newspaper alleging that the Prime Minister had been warned ten days before the 7 October massacre by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed.
Netanyahu has once again rejected the allegations, stating that “from the beginning of September until 7 October, no conversation took place between the Prime Minister and the President of the United Arab Emirates. The Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council and the Military Secretary have thoroughly checked the Prime Minister’s call log and found no trace of such a conversation”.
According to Netanyahu, the claim that Egypt warned the Prime Minister of the possibility of an attack is also false.

Israel: Trump did not ask Burnham to change his mind on sanctions
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham informed Donald Trump earlier this week, prior to the announcement of sanctions against trade in goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The US President did not press the issue, nor did he ask Burnham to change his mind or postpone the decision. This is reported by Axios and the Times of Israel. “There was no request to postpone,” said a Western official briefed on the phone call. According to sources, US officials reportedly conveyed that they shared concerns about the Netanyahu government’s policy in the West Bank, whilst disagreeing with the specific sanctions.

Pasdaran: US base in Jordan struck
In Iran, the Revolutionary Guards, known as the Pasdaran, “launched a punitive operation against the US base at al-Azraq in Jordan with heavy missile strikes, using ballistic missiles”, in response to the US attack on Iranian oil tankers. This was reported by the Iranian news agency Mehr, which added that the Pasdaran’s operation “targeted the repair and maintenance hangars, the preparation areas and the deployment positions of the F-35, F-16 and F-15 fighter jets, as well as the fighter aircraft hangars, inflicting serious damage on the enemy”.

Houthis: over thirty Saudi air strikes in various regions
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have reported more than 30 Saudi air strikes in various regions, following a large-scale attack launched by the rebels against the neighbouring country, which left several dozen people injured. “The Saudi air force has carried out 32 air strikes in various areas of the provinces of Marib, Al-Jawf, Ta’iz and Hodeida in the last few hours,” reported their television channel, Almasirah.

Israel: ‘The UK must close its consulate in East Jerusalem within 30 days’
Israel has informed British representatives that they must leave the consulate in East Jerusalem and close it within 30 days. This was reported by Ynet News, citing an Israeli official who spoke to Reuters. Yesterday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar had announced the measures in response to London’s sanctions against Israeli settlers in the West Bank, including the closure of the consulate, though he did not specify a timeframe.

London and 11 other countries oppose the settlers; Israel closes its consulate in the UK
An open diplomatic war is raging between Israel and the United Kingdom, the country whose landmark Balfour Declaration of 1917 paved the way for the Zionist project. The trigger was the U-turn by the Labour government in London, under the new leadership of Andy Burnham, which announced unprecedented sanctions against trade in goods from Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, closely followed by a commitment to do the same by 11 other countries: including Canada, France and various European Union and non-EU states (excluding Italia).
A turning point marked by an unprecedented tone of condemnation from the British side towards the “terrorist settlers”, as well as towards Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right Israeli government, which was accused in no uncertain terms of covering up instances of “ethnic cleansing”.
To which Israel – backed by Donald Trump’s US administration – responded furiously, going so far as to order, amongst other things, the forced closure of the UK consulate in East Jerusalem. This blow to relations with a historic ally – foreshadowed for days as a sign of a change of course from the cautious approach taken on this issue by the previous Prime Minister, Keir Starmer (who, incidentally, had aligned himself with Paris last year in recognising the Palestinian state at the UN) – was delivered in the House of Commons by Ed Miliband, the new Foreign Secretary. The minister, with Burnham seated beside him, formally designated Israeli settlements as “illegal” entities, condemning their expansion, starting with the controversial E1 project in the West Bank.
In his speech from the benches of Westminster, Miliband, who was born on the island to parents of Polish-Jewish descent fleeing Nazism, proudly asserted his heritage as a Jew of the diaspora and remembered his relatives killed in the Holocaust, as well as his ties to Israel, a country he described as a ‘friend’. He did so whilst condemning anti-Semitism in the UK and the massacre carried out “by Hamas terrorists” on 7 October 2023. At the same time, however, he emphasised that his Jewish identity and his recognition of the “State of Israel’s right to defend itself” are not at odds with his support for a “State of Palestine” within the framework of a peace based on the “two-state solution: on the contrary”. A prospect that the actions of the settlers and the policies of the Netanyahu government are leading to ‘destruction’, he continued, after referring both to the ‘traumatic’ devastation of Gaza over the last three years and the ‘unspeakable suffering’ endured by men, women and children in the Strip, as well as to ‘settler terrorism’ by extremists in the West Bank. He also accused Netanyahu and his associates of “turning a blind eye” to the “ethnic cleansing” attributed both to the settlers and to the explicit incitement by ministers such as the hardliners Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
Not only that, but it has declared the “war crimes” committed by Israel to be proven, entrusting to the international justice system – which the Burnham cabinet vows to support – the possible legal recognition of the allegations of “genocide” as well. A context which, in her own words, justifies the introduction of “a new sanctions regime” and the “ban on trade in the United Kingdom in products from illegal settlements”. This is accompanied by a commitment to deal “with the full force of the law” with anyone who attempts to continue “facilitating or financing” such trade. In numerical terms, these are symbolic measures compared to the overall trade with Israel, regarding which Miliband – who, at the same time, has once again pointed the finger at “Iran’s threats” against the Jewish state, whilst also announcing sanctions against Hezbollah’s financial arm in Lebanon – has ruled out any blanket boycott. Nevertheless, it amounts to a full-blown slap in the face, to which the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, responded by describing the accusations as “scandalous and false”.
Saar then announced the closure of the consulate and the blacklisting of an activist and 11 MPs from the British radical left who are most closely aligned with the Palestinian cause (including the former Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn), who will be barred from entering the country as they have been branded “anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic”. Moreover, the Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, and members of the domestic opposition have also come out against the British crackdown, despite the criticism levelled at “Bibi” in the midst of the election campaign leading up to the 27 October general election. Meanwhile, the situation remains deadlocked at EU level, given that collective adherence to sanctions against the settlers requires unanimity among the 27 Member States. Furthermore, proposals to this effect have recently been blocked in Brussels by renewed resistance from countries such as Germany, Italia and others. “I,” cut short the Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, from Buenos Aires, “am always in favour of joint decisions by the European Union, including on trade matters; otherwise, there is a risk of distorting the internal market. The British are not part of it.”

Jordan reports no casualties following missile attack
Jordan’s air defence systems have destroyed 18 of the 20 ballistic missiles fired from Iranian territory : this was reported by the state news agency, citing the armed forces.
Two missiles fell in uninhabited areas and there were no casualties, according to a statement by the military and as reported by the news agency.
Monitoring and evaluation activities are still ongoing, the agency reports.

Performing heart surgery on refugee children in Amman
The war in the Middle East is spilling over into hospitals too. It is cutting off the power, halting treatment and threatening those who save lives. Dozens of facilities have been hit and healthcare workers killed across Lebanon, Iran and Israel. In Gaza, the figures are no longer sufficient to account for the victims, according to the World Health Organisation. Yet there are those who persevere: in Amman, thanks to a paediatric cardiac surgery mission from the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa – the fifth such mission there since 2019 – ten children have undergone heart surgery. Free of charge, in a place where public healthcare does not exist. Ten lives, ten chances. Pasdaran: Two US ships and eight oil tankers attacked in the Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that it attacked two US vessels and eight oil tankers in the Gulf, in response to what it described as a US attack on five Iranian oil tankers; according to Iranian state media, citing a statement from the IRGC itself.
The IRGC claimed to have attacked 10 ships attempting to pass through an area of the Strait of Hormuz described as “off-limits and unsafe”.

Iran drops cluster bombs on Jordan whilst the US strikes oil tankers
Iran has opened fire on Jordan, using cluster munitions, according to a US official speaking to Fox News, who said the attack was still ongoing.
According to the official, the US military has disabled 10 Iranian oil tankers over the past week, five of them on Tuesday alone.
This occurred whilst, according to Reuters, Jordanian air defences also reportedly intercepted a series of missiles launched from Iran. Citing Iranian state media, the newspaper reported that numerous ballistic missiles had been launched from various cities towards what Iranian media described as hostile US targets.
According to reports by Al Jazeera, Syrian state television also reported that missiles from Iran had been intercepted over the Jordanian border town of Irbid.
