Hamas will dissolve government with installation of Trump plan committee
Hamas has signalled that he will dissolve his current government in Gaza when a steering committee of Palestinian technocrats has taken control of the territory, as per the US-brokered peace plan. Hamas did not provide details on when the change will take place.
Hamas and the Palestinian National Authority have not announced the names of the technocrats, who should not be politicians, and it is still unclear whether they will be authorised by Israel and the United States.
The Peace Council is supposed to oversee the government and other aspects of the ceasefire that came into effect on 10 October 2025, including the disarmament of Hamas and the deployment of an international security force.
The people are still dying in Gaza
Three Palestinians were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Local sources reported that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a group of civilians south of Khan Younis, killing three people. A woman was also injured by Israeli army gunfire in the Batn al-Samin area, south of Khan Younis.
