Health, the United States formally leaves the WHO

The United States has officially left the World Health Organisation. Donald Trump had launched the leaving procedure via an executive order signed on the first day of his second term. In the list of WHO member countries on the organisation's website next to the US there is an asterisk referring to a note, which clarifies that the US is out as of 22 January 2026 after it had announced its intention to withdraw in 2025.
