Heatwave: temperatures in Sardinia have exceeded 40 degrees in the Sulcis and Nuoro areas. Fire risk alert
Temperatures exceeded 40 degrees before 1 pm. The heatwave shows no sign of letting up in Sardinia, where, due to the high temperatures, vigilance remains high and the alert status is in place until Friday.
Several towns are having to cope with high temperatures.
43 degrees in Carbonia
From Carbonia, where temperatures reached 43 degrees, and Iglesias, where they reached 42 degrees, the heat is spreading to other parts of the island. From Nuoro, where temperatures hit 40 degrees, and on to Logurodo. There is concern in the Siliqua plain, where temperatures of 43.5 degrees were recorded, and also in the Ottana plain, where temperatures of up to 46 degrees are forecast for tomorrow. Vigilance remains high for tomorrow as well, given that the Civil Protection alert remains in force until 8 pm on Friday.
