Elio beyond the smile with a reflection on the role of work
During the show, the artist emphasised the greater commitment of the business world than the state in supporting autistic children
Key points
Music, irony, personal stories and social commitment. These were the elements at the centre of the meeting with Elio e le Storie Tese held yesterday at the FuoriFestival dell'Economia in Trento as part of the Zelig Lab events. An initiative that will continue tomorrow with the comedy marathon hosted by Davide Paniate and in which Federico Basso, Leonardo Manera, the duo Nuzzo Di Biase, Federica Ferrero, Francesco Migliazza will participate.
Yesterday's event at Trento's social theatre featured an interview-show conducted by Leonardo Manera and accompanied by the music of pianist and composer Alberto Tafuri Lupinacci.
A format that combined entertainment and social reflection, during which a photo book on Elio's long career was presented. While answering Manera's questions, Elio gave life to an amusing, ironic and desecrating show among the songs of Gaber, Jannacci, Cochi e Renato and Rossini.
The show was also an opportunity to present his book of fairy tales entitled "Fiabe centimetrespolitane", two of which were read to the audience: "The water-soluble crocodile" and "The red robin".
Autism Commitment
But in addition to the entertainment, music and comedy, in front of an audience full of amused people, a theme emerged with respect to which Elio has over the years developed a deep and concrete sensitivity: autism, a form of disability that is much more widespread than one might think.
