As informed by an FS note, the process that will lead to the approval and then entry into circulation of the new-generation Frecciarossa 1000, Trenitalia's high-speed train, continues.
Designed by Hitachi Rail and manufactured at the Pistoia and Naples production sites, the new ETR1000s maintain the current exterior design and livery, but introduce important innovations in the interior and on-board technologies in the sign of Made in Italy style.
High-quality materials, ergonomic furnishing solutions and a more welcoming ambience contribute to creating an atmosphere in line with the expectations of modern travellers. The train is also equipped with advanced digital systems for travel management and on-board information.
In addition to reaching a maximum speed of 300 kilometres per hour, these trains are much more reliable due to the improved efficiency of the traction system.
The green push was decisive, with a recyclability rate of 97.1%, a full 2.7 percentage points higher than the previous fleet.
