PARIS - In a Paris somewhat dazed by the elimination of its national football team from European competition and frantically busy getting ready for the upcoming Olympics, Samsung unveiled a wide range of products with one common factor for all: artificial intelligence.
In the beautiful setting of the Louvre, we witnessed the performance of the Galaxy Z series smartwatches with the Fold 6 and Flip 6, the arrival of the new Galaxy Buds3, the highly anticipated Galaxy Ring and the update of the smartwatch series with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Of all of them, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones certainly stand out, as technologically they are the most advanced and pioneering. Samsung was the first to believe in foldable formats, and nowadays its Fold series is certainly the one with the most attention. The peculiar form factor of the Galaxy Fold 6 also makes it suitable for a whole range of uses beyond those we are used to with traditional smartphones and makes this device particularly interesting as a test bed for AI functions.
Its peculiarity, in fact, is that it has two screens: a foldable 7.6-inch screen that is reminiscent of the first tablets in size and which is activated by 'opening' the device, and a 6.3-inch screen outside that is used in a traditional manner. In this way, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 can be used in a traditional or advanced manner depending on what we need to do.
When you open it up, it becomes a valuable working tool in which the application of artificial intelligence functions help. For example, the Notes Assistant function creates summaries, translations and automatic formatting of notes taken during meetings and the new transcription function puts notes and voice recordings of meetings into writing. The translation function also works on PDFs, with the care taken to return a translation perfectly superimposed on the original version to give the right context to the whole.
