Hiab, Coseco confirms acquisition of Statte site. Urso: 'Strong signal'

'A strong signal'. Enterprise Minister Adolfo Urso thus announces and comments on the decision by Coseco Industrie Group to relaunch the Hiab production site in Statte. The group, active in the ecological vehicle equipment sector, has confirmed to Mimit the acquisition of the entire company branch in the province of Taranto.

Hiab is a Swedish company specialising in the production of lifting and handling equipment. "This operation represents a strong signal and testifies to the ability of an important company like Coseco to give a concrete industrial response to the entire territory. It is the result of a virtuous synergy between institutions, in which each, for its own expertise, has played its role,' said the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, emphasising that 'the ministry will continue to support strategic initiatives with every instrument at its disposal.

As indicated in a note from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, this reindustrialisation operation - the second one, after the Sofinter dispute, successfully concluded by Mimit in the last week in relation to the Apulian territory - represents a concrete opportunity for the territory and marks the start of a new path with solid prospects for development and production relaunch.

To date, the balance of resolved company cases and reindustrialisation agreements followed by Mimit counts 41 agreements reached with the parties. There are 43 open tables. At the same time, 383 sites have been safeguarded, for a total of more than 25,180 workers involved.
