It is the result of a 12 million euro investment and will be inaugurated by the end of the year. The new building of Hiref, a company active in the industrial air-conditioning sector, is being built next to its current headquarters in the industrial area of Tribano, in the province of Padua.
The total covered surface area is 8 thousand square metres, and a large part of the interior space will be used to house four production lines covering more than 6 thousand square metres. An expansion that will gradually lead to the hiring of an additional 40 employees to add to the 400 already on staff. The remaining space will be used for offices and for a meeting room capable of accommodating a hundred people.
The building will be green, highly efficient and sustainable thanks to a series of design choices that place it in energy class A4. These include the installation of a system with 1.5 megawatts of heating and cooling power from renewable sources, 345 kilowatts of photovoltaics installed and 750 kilowatts of recovered power for heating the offices and production area.
"The works are proceeding at a rapid pace: we aim to inaugurate the new headquarters by the end of 2024," explains Alberto Salmistraro, CEO of HiRef. "In line with our utmost attention to the environment, we wanted a building that makes sustainability one of its strong points, as well as providing a comfortable workplace for the employees who will animate it. The data centre market is playing an increasingly fundamental role in the global technological ecosystem, and HiRef aims to accept and overcome the challenges that this market poses, requiring products that are green, efficient as well as energy effective".
The specialisation of this small and young multinational company, founded in 2001, is in the creation of complete, scalable and modular heating, cooling and precision air conditioning solutions for technological infrastructures such as data centres. Its other target markets are industrial process air-conditioning and tertiary, always focusing on environmental sustainability. The company has partnerships with several universities to do research and dissertations. Thus, 60% of graduates decide to stay with the company.
