Historic visit of San Marino to the Vatican for the Jubilee of 2025

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of San Marino in London, together with a British parliamentary delegation, paid a historic visit to the Holy See: the historic meeting took place on 22 October 2025, on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2025.
The visit, which coincides with the historic audience of King Charles III with Pope Leo XIV, takes place at a moment of exceptional spiritual and diplomatic importance. The convergence of these events highlights the shared values of peace, dialogue and unity among nations, principles that both theRepublic of San Marino and the United Kingdom support with deep commitment.
The occasion of the Jubilee
San Marino's participation in the Holy Year 2025, a note explained, reaffirms its long-standing friendship with the Holy See and its dedication to promoting interreligious understanding, international cooperation and human dignity.
During the visit, the delegation of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), headed by MP Andrew Rosindell, along with four other parliamentarians, participated in high-level meetings, including one with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.

The visit also underscores the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between nations. Through the work of the APPG, both San Marino and the United Kingdom continue to strengthen bilateral relations based on shared democratic principles, cultural exchange and friendship. The visit also provides an opportunity to celebrate the historical and cultural ties that unite San Marino, the Holy See and the United Kingdom.
