Home appliance bonus, 300,000 vouchers disbursed (60% to families with low Isee). Applia: 'Working to re-propose it in 2026 and 2027'

'A great success'. Those who represent manufacturers of household appliances speak thus of the bonus made available on 18 November by the Ministry of Enterprise, with just over 48 million euros allocated. It is Applia, which after more than a week reports requests from a million households.

Of these, as explained, only a few have received - or will receive - the voucher. So far, there have been about 300,000 of them and most of them -60% have been able to apply for the discount of up to 200 euro, reserved for households with an Isee of less than 25,000 euro.

The measure, according to Applia's president Stefano Pasini, 'has mainly benefited the lower income classes. And so it has made the social value of this measure on the lower income brackets resoundingly clear'. These are the ones who, on average, 'had the most obsolete products' and therefore the highest energy bills. A national issue, 'given that the stock of household appliances installed in Italy is the most obsolete in Europe, with an average life of about fifteen years

That is why the most purchased products were the essentials. But not inexpensive, "so it was proven that a slight push was enough" to make people invest. These are washers, refrigerators, hobs and ovens.

Appliances coming from the European Union. Moreover, according to Applia, out of the sixteen companies that have signed up, eleven have factories in Italy. 'It is the first time that in a sector such as ours,' adds Pasini, 'a measure is introduced to support a supply chain that is not only national, but actually European. A first step to support an industry that represents an important part of Italian and European GDP'.
