Home, a bonus of up to EUR 500 for separated parents leaving home on the way
It was Deputy Prime Minister Salvini who gave the details: 60 million over three years, for an estimated 15,000 separated
Key points
It was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini immediately after the Housing Plan approved on Thursday in the Council of Ministers: 'rent support for separated parents' leaving home is on the way. The figures, as yet, are not precise, but for Salvini they will be between 400 and 500 euros per month for a year.
The resources allocated
The resources allocated amount to sixty million euro for the three-year period 2026-2028. "What I have in mind," Salvini clarified, "and on which we are putting down the calls for tenders, is a contribution of between four and five hundred euro per month for one year for parents who, after separation or divorce, leave home because the other spouse stays at home.
Out of home but still paying rent or mortgage
Here, the motivation. Often, Salvini added, referring to separated people who leave home, 'they continue to pay the mortgage or rent, despite the fact that the other spouse remains in the house, and evidently they have run out of resources and are out of the market. In many contexts these 4-500 euro a month make a difference even to have a roof under which to meet your child at least at the weekend'.
The audience: 15 thousand separated
The audience, again according to Salvini, is 'fifteen thousand separated parents' to be helped over the three-year period. "I say parents because they can be fathers and they can be mothers. It's up to colleagues of course to go and look at the statistics after a separation or divorce to who in ninety per cent of cases remains with the children'.
