Honor Magic 8 Pro: great photos but the price is still high

The Honor Magic 8 Pro is one of those 'concrete' smartphones that goes straight for what really matters in everyday use: screen, cameras, autonomy and general fluidity. Aesthetically, it presents very well. Its structure combines glass and metal with a neat finish and a distinctly solid feel despite its reduced thickness. The rear body is slightly curved at the edges, a choice that improves ergonomics in spite of the device's large size. The weight distribution and tapered profile help maintain good handling even in prolonged use.

The circular camera module on the back is, to say the least, bulky and becomes a real eye-catcher. One might think of it as an aesthetic choice, but it is probably forced by the first diktat that characterises the design of new smartphones: cameras must be super-performing. The good thing is that, obligatory or not, it is also comfortable because it creates a natural foothold on many occasions. The certification that ensures water and dust resistance contributes to reinforcing the idea of a device designed for intense daily use, demonstrating attention to aesthetics but also to durability.

Honor adopts a large OLED panel, with a diagonal of more than six and a half inches, offering a large and immersive viewing area, ideal for both multimedia and mobile work.

The high resolution ensures a very high level of detail, with sharp text and clear images even at close range. Another central aspect is the brightness: the panel reaches very high peak values, making it perfectly readable even in bright sunlight. Colours appear vivid but well controlled, with a good balance between saturation and naturalness.

Honor has also worked on eye protection, integrating blue light reduction modes and automatic brightness adjustment systems that take into account environmental conditions. This makes the display more suitable for prolonged sessions, both for reading and for evening use, limiting eye fatigue.
