First the cataphoresis treatment, as with cars. Then zinc phosphates, primer and only at the end comes the painting. "Complicated, indeed," explains Luigi Biscarini, "but what we do must last, we are not talking about disposable products.
Weather resistance is indeed one of the main concerns for the entrepreneur and commercial director of Emu, an Umbrian company with over 40 million in revenues and 150 employees, one of the national champions of outdoor products. Chairs, umbrellas, sun loungers and tables that have to withstand 'outdoor' use in multiple weather conditions and at multiple latitudes, taking into account the company's clientele that spans the globe.
"Exports account for more than 70 per cent of our revenues," explains Biscarini, "and the main part of the business is related to the contract sector, where we often operate with global groups. Clients that range across several sectors, from hotels to the nautical sector, from catering to tourist resorts, and more generally in companies, committed after Covid to making outdoor spaces such as terraces or gardens usable in working terms.
Thus, Emu's customers include global bigwigs such as Club Med or Starbucks, or Costa Cruises and Hilton, giants that use the Umbrian group's products to equip their outdoor spaces.
