Housing plan, the squeeze on evictions arrives: fast recovery of properties

It was in the balance until the very end. But, in the end, the fast track bill landed in the Council of Ministers as part of the housing plan.

The important new development is certified by the convening of the Italian Council of Ministers. In addition to the decree law on the measures of the housing plan, for the population houses, social housing and affordable housing, the Government will also approve a decree law on the 'provisions on procedures for the release of real estate'.

This is a rule that was originally planned in the main decree, but was removed due to the Quirinal's concerns about an urgency measure.

The aim is to speed up enforcement procedures in the event of occupation of properties. This intervention will serve, among other things, to free up the approximately22,000 council houses currently illegally occupied. The bill will, of course, have to pass through Parliament.
