‘How to use weapons responsibly’, this Saturday at the shooting range for Futuro Nazionale
The press release issued by Giulio Curatella, the regional head of Futuro Nazionale in Basilicata, refers to “a morning of training and sport, organised in a controlled environment and under the supervision of qualified staff, with the aim of fostering a culture of safety and responsibility when handling firearms”
Key points
‘Training, discipline, safety’: Futuro Nazionale Basilicata has chosen to spend the first Saturday in October at the shooting range. For a day ‘dedicated to understanding and the responsible use of firearms’, the Futurists’ Academy event is scheduled for 9.30 am at the ‘Accademia dei Cavalieri’ shooting range, in Pazzano di Tolve, a small village about twenty kilometres from Potenza, where it cannot be ruled out that there may also be protests from associations and other political movements.
In the press release issued by Giulio Curatella, the regional head of Futuro Nazionale in Basilicata, reference is made to ‘a morning of training and sport, organised in a controlled environment and under the supervision of qualified staff, with the aim of fostering a culture of safety and responsibility when handling firearms’. The programme comprised three parts: a theory lesson, a practical session and the Futurists’ Trophy. The latter was characterised by three key elements: accuracy, precision, concentration and team spirit.
Theory and practical session
Curatella emphasises, in particular, that the session ‘will begin with a theoretical lesson lasting around an hour, led by the shooting instructor, covering the fundamental safety rules, the operation of the handgun and the general principles relating to its use and proper handling. The theoretical part will be followed by a practical familiarisation session, conducted with the assistance of instructors. The morning will conclude with the ‘Trofeo dei Futuristi’, a small symbolic accuracy competition, conducted in strict compliance with the rules and procedures laid down by the shooting range’.
Limited places
And the poster shared on social media also states that ‘places are limited, and booking is essential’ via the telephone number provided alongside, that ‘for young people aged under 30, participation in the shooting is free’ and that ‘the other parts of the day are open to everyone, young and old alike’. ‘We chose,’ explains Curatella, ‘the name Accademia dei Futuristi because this day aims to bring together knowledge, discipline and responsibility. It is an opportunity for socialising and team spirit, through an experience that is different from the usual, in which training and sporting activity go hand in hand. We do not wish to trivialise a serious issue or turn it into a mere spectacle. A firearm demands awareness and respect for the rules. Discipline comes before accuracy. And safety comes before anything else.”
Vannacci sets out the measures for the first 100 days
Meanwhile, Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale, has announced that ‘we are drawing up the 10 most important measures that we would pass in our first 100 days if we were in government’. He made the announcement whilst speaking at a gathering at the Biondetti beach club in Marina di Pietrasanta (Lucca). As he recalled, it was here in 2023 that the first launch of his book *Mondo al contrario* took place, marking the start of his political rise, which culminated in the founding of Futuro Nazionale. The event was followed by a dinner, during which the former general spoke at length on a wide range of topics. Several hundred people were present, including Fabrizio Corona, who explained – after having launched his own movement – that he had come to listen to Vannacci “because he’s leading in the polls, and,” he said, “I come to hear the frontrunner”.
