Wearables remain one of the few consumer electronics segments still characterised by structural growth. In this context, Huawei has consolidated a competitive advantage that has taken it to first place in the world for shipments of wearable devices in 2025: over 150 million units distributed globally in the first three quarters of the year, with a double-digit year-on-year increase and a higher share than Xiaomi, Apple and Samsung. This leadership has been achieved through a clear strategy: significant investment in research and development with proprietary sensors and advanced algorithms for biometric analysis, a focus on energy efficiency and an extensive product portfolio capable of covering different price ranges.
This is the background to the launch of the new Watch Fit 5 series, an evolution of the Huawei line dedicated to the mid-range of wearables. Since its debut, the range has focused on a compact design and instruments designed for the daily monitoring of activity and biometric parameters. With this new generation, it makes a further leap forward, integrating solutions hitherto reserved for the upper segments: synthetic sapphire glass, ECG functions, arrhythmia detection and contactless payments that can be managed autonomously, without the need for a smartphone.
Design and display
Huawei Watch Fit 5 retains the square design that characterises the series, a thin and light structure designed for extended use throughout the day. There are two models, standard and Pro, with different colour palettes: five colours for the Fit 5, three for the Pro, with some exclusives reserved for the online store. The Pro version is distinguished by more resistant materials, designed to reduce wear and tear and improve durability. The plus is the Micro-Arc Oxidation surface treatment on the aluminium body, which creates a ceramic layer to improve hardness and scratch resistance. On the display, the difference is substantial: the standard model offers a 1.82-inch screen, while the Pro mounts a 1.92-inch 2.5D synthetic sapphire glass with 1.8 mm bezels and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, enough to guarantee full readability even in direct sunlight. The adaptive refresh rate, from 1 to 60 Hz, optimises power consumption according to the context of use.
