A hub for the birth of new enterprises promoted by young people, promoted by the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and implemented by Invitalia, has just started. Another hub, this time promoted by Anci, ready to start in Palermo, Monreale and Belmonte Mezzagno. At the heart of it all, however, are the cultural sites at Palermo's Zisa. The first is the Rete project, which lands in Palermo after Nuoro, Verona, Salerno, Novara and Brindisi: inaugurated by the minister, it is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 35 who want to improve their skills in order to enter the world of work and at innovative start-ups. "I believe that today's theme is to offer opportunities and occupy, in a healthy way, spaces both in the territories and in people's consciences. When people feel abandoned, or in any case think they are, then the bestial side of the human being takes the space," said the minister also in reference to what happened in Monreale where three young men were killed in a shootout.

The one in Palermo is the sixth of the 12 orientation and training spaces planned throughout the country and was realised in cooperation with Invitalia and the Municipality of Palermo as lead partner. "It is a project that fits in very well with the commitment strategies of the municipal administration of Palermo, which has embraced this initiative," says the mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla. "We are putting in place all the prerequisites to create an innovation hub that brings together research, innovation and business start-ups.

The Palermo hub has innovative start-ups as its territorial vocation. "It is a place designed to welcome young people from all over the region," explains Luigi Gallo, Invitalia's head of Incentives and Innovation. "Here it is possible to take stock of one's skills and define one's professional development path, but also to acquire or improve employment skills, follow specific training paths to become an entrepreneur, develop a business idea, and learn more about incentives for the creation and development of productive activities.

The second hub will be inaugurated on 14 May and was created within the framework of Anci's 'Giovani e Impresa - II Edizione' (Youth and Enterprise - Second Edition) call: it is promoted by the Municipality of Palermo (lead partner), in cooperation with The Factory, Ets Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, and partner municipalities. The main objective is to accompany young people under 35 in the creation of new enterprises, particularly in the commercial, cultural, creative and tourism sectors. Starting on 14 May, counselling counters will be set up as well as regular counters in the partner municipalities that will also provide support in accessing funds. "Through this initiative, the aim is not only to stimulate the creation of new business activities, but also to strengthen the local economic and social fabric, creating sustainable growth opportunities for young people in the area.
