On Sunday 9 August 2026 at 7.00 pm, the network of the Liguria Region’s Meteorological and Hydrological Observatory (Omirl) recorded air humidity of 97 per cent in Pieve di Teco (Imperia) and 95 per cent in Camogli (Genoa) – just like in a Turkish bath.
Among the provincial capitals, the situation is worst in Genoa, where at 6.30 pm at the operations centre of the Ligurian Regional Agency for Environmental Protection (Arpal), humidity was recorded at 75 per cent, followed by Savona at 67 per cent, Imperia at 55 per cent and La Spezia at 48 per cent.
Among the humidity peaks recorded on the afternoon of 9 August in the Imperia area, Montegrosso Pian di Latte reached 97 per cent – though this coincided with a thunderstorm – Pornassio reached 92 per cent, Apricale 82 per cent, Triora and Pigna at 80 per cent.
In the Genoa area, Mele al Passo del Turchino stands at 86 per cent, Sant’Ilario at 81 per cent and Camogli at 80 per cent.
