At the Beijing Auto Show 2026, Beijing Hyundai officially unveiled its new brand strategy, announcing the creation of the Ioniq brand in China and unveiling the Ioniq V. Beijing Hyundai is a

automotive joint venture founded in 2002 between Baic Motor and Hyundai Motor Company, based in Shunyi, Beijing. The company produces Hyundai-branded vehicles for the Chinese market, focusing on electrification with models such as the Ioniq V, aiming for 500,000 annual sales by 2027. The project includes the creation of a dedicated ecosystem for Chinese customers, called Ioniq Universe.

Presented in concept form as the Venus, the Hyundai Ioniq V was designed by the style centre in China. The model adopts a three-dimensional design with facetted surfaces and solutions aimed at reducing aerodynamic drag. The light clusters use the 'Dimensional Light Blade' light signature and a split front headlamp configuration. The side features frameless doors and V-shaped rims.

The dimensions are 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. At the rear are 'Dimensional Star Track' light clusters. Inside, the cabin adopts a 'nebula-wrapped' layout, with an ultra-thin 27-inch 4K main display, ambient lighting and a 'Cyber Eye' head-up display system.

The Ioniq models are built on the E-Gmp electric platform and support both all-electric configurations and range extender systems. The architecture includes 800 volt fast charging and advanced electric drive systems.
