The new I-BOAT (acronym for Innovative Boat) boatyard, founded by Izzo SpA and based in the Port of Naples, is ready to make its debut: it will be presented on the international scene at the Genoa Boat Show, scheduled from 19 to 22 September.
First 12-metre boat
.Presented The first boat produced is model #404, a 12.20 metre walkaround, 3.9 metres wide, built in infusion fibreglass, with a deep V-shaped hull with step. Approved for 10 people and with a fuel capacity of 700 litres, it can adopt both inboard and outboard engines (600 to 900 horsepower in total) and reach cruising speeds of 26 knots and maximum speeds of around 38 knots.
The new boat combines refined and original design with comfort and technological innovation, offering a high degree of customisation: each owner will be able to choose materials, colours, seats, and accessories. Before its debut in Genoa, the new boat was also previewed in Naples with a sea trial. The boat was designed by the young naval engineer Giovanni di Procolo, head of Izzo's newly established nautical division. Other models are already under construction in the new Neapolitan yard: a cabin version of the #404, a 60-footer and an 80-footer.
Group with 130 employees and a turnover of 24 million
.The Izzo Group _ with 130 employees and a 2023 turnover of 24 million _ can boast a long seafaring tradition dating back to 1880, having contributed, through the design and construction of outfitting, to the building of important passenger ships that ply the seas all over the world. The shipyard has a slipway for boats up to 70 metres long and a factory of over 7000 square metres. The president, Francesco Izzo, was a partner and board member of CIN (Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione), which absorbed the entire Tirrenia di Navigazione fleet. Today, with the impetus of Eugenio Izzo, representing the fifth generation of the family, the Neapolitan company is pushing on a path of diversification with the first pleasure boat produced in the port of Naples.
Nautics on the rise in Campania
In a positive moment for the Italian pleasure boating industry, a sector that continues to excel in terms of sales, turnover, exports, growth in investments and employment, Campania is the region that leads the way in the production of boats up to 12 metres, particularly in the field of gozzi and inflatable boats.
