Iccrea: BNP Paribas Cardif increases its stake in BCC Vita to 70 per cent; partnership extended to 2039
The French group’s insurance company acquires a 19 per cent stake
BNP Paribas Cardif, an insurance company within the BNP Paribas Group, and the BCC Iccrea Group, Italia’s largest cooperative banking group comprising 111 cooperative credit banks, announced today that BNP Paribas Cardif has acquired an additional 19 per cent stake in the life insurance company BCC Vita, bringing its total stake to 70 per cent. The transaction forms part of the agreements signed in 2023 and marks the natural evolution of a partnership that has already demonstrated solid foundations and significant results. Following BNP Paribas Cardif’s acquisition of a 51 per cent stake in BCC Vita, the two partners have jointly developed an effective and distinctive bancassurance model, designed to meet customers’ evolving insurance needs. The additional acquisition of a 19 per cent stake reflects a shared long-term vision and mutual trust built up over time, and enables BNP Paribas Cardif to extend its partnership with the BCC Iccrea Group in Italia for the life insurance segment until 2039. The BCC Iccrea Group’s network, which is deeply rooted throughout Italia, represents an effective distribution asset for BCC Vita, enabling it to offer high-quality insurance solutions to a broad and diverse client base.
