Barbara Borghini is the dynamic force behind the brand. You can tell from the first meeting. Barbara is a volcano of ideas and anecdotes about the history that led to the creation and success of Giaborghini, a brand of strictly Italian footwear that is appreciated abroad.
Having grown up in Italy, Barbara has been involved in accessories and footwear from a young age, having studied Communication and Marketing in Rome, and then taking a Master's degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in London and Polimoda in Florence.
The brand was founded in 2016 - the name is a tribute to their daughter Ginevra - with the aim of focusing on almost zero kilometre Made in Italy, maintaining production in Tuscany, in the area south of Florence.
The product is strictly handcrafted and is aimed at a dynamic woman who loves designer shoes. Soft and refined materials, colours studied in detail, all-round comfort are the characteristics of the brand. Sustainability is one of the focuses, together with the desire to bring small craftsmanship to life.
'The brand started in Milan and in particular in the Antonia shop, which immediately believed in the product,' Barbara told Il Sole 24 Ore. Now we sell online and in physical shops like Luisa via Roma, Moda operandi, but also the Revolve store in Los Angeles and Selfridges in London'.
