The Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio will bring a civil action for damages against Bianca Berlinguer and Mediaset, following their support for the dissemination of news concerning the 'Minetti case', during the episode of the programme It is always carte blanche in which the journalist Sigfrido Ranucci - who later apologised - had reported a lead on alleged visits of the Guardasigilli to the ranch in Uruguay of Minetti and his companion. For the ministry, 'this is news and statements considered damaging to the image of the man and the institution he represents'.
The minister gave a mandate to the lawyer Giulio Micioni of the Rome Bar in reference to the 28 April episode. If the civil case is won, any sum awarded will be donated in full to an institution for the protection of minors.
