Il Sole 24 Ore confirms growth in readership: +2.4 per cent in the second Audicom Print 2026 survey
Digital copies are on the rise, whilst paper copies remain popular
*Il Sole 24 Ore* has confirmed its upward trend in readership figures in the second Audicom Print 2026 survey as well, bucking the national downward trend. This result recognises the newspaper’s ability to evolve whilst remaining true to its distinctive values of reliability, authority and comprehensive reporting, complemented by innovative initiatives born of the synergy between the Group’s expertise and knowledge.
In the Audicom Print 2026/II survey, which tracks the readership of Italian daily newspapers and periodicals, *Il Sole 24 Ore*, with 715,000 readers on an average day, recorded a 2.4 per cent increase compared with the previous period (Audicom Print 2026/I). This figure takes on an even more positive light given the national context, in which readership has fallen by 3.0 per cent. Not only that, but when compared with the same period last year (Audicom Sistema Audipress 2025/II), *Il Sole 24 Ore* has recorded extraordinary growth of +8.8 per cent, compared with a market where readership has fallen by -9.2 per cent year-on-year.This excellent result is driven by readers of the digital edition, which recorded an increase of +8.1 per cent, whilst print readership also underpins the overall result, showing only a slight decline compared with a market experiencing a more pronounced drop.
This second confirmation, following the excellent results of the first Audicom Print 2026 survey, forms part of the process of significant innovation that the entire Il Sole 24 ORE Group embarked upon during 2026, starting in January with a rebranding exercise and continuing with the launch of new initiatives that have strengthened readers’ interest and trust: the new 24 ORE NextMed editorial platform, dedicated to the wider Mediterranean region, which offers content, research, events and business intelligence activities; the enhancement of the 24ORE Salute multimedia platform, which has become a key reference point for businesses, institutions and the public on issues relating to health, medicine, research and the healthcare sector; the new Sole24Ore.com homepage, which showcases the multimedia nature of content across all the Group’s media outlets and integrates the 24Ore AI conversational assistant with the entire information repository of Il Sole 24 ORE; the revamp of the digital newspapers dedicated to professionals and the public sector – Norme&Tributi Plus, with a new content architecture; the development of the IlSole24OreTV television channel, with enriched content and the move to channel 63 on digital terrestrial television, which strengthens the channel’s accessibility, recognisability and central role within the national television offering.
And it is precisely by always prioritising readers’ trust that the institutional campaign “Quando è il Sole non c’è ombra di dubbio” has just been launched, to raise public awareness of the importance of verifying sources and to reaffirm the distinctive value of *Il Sole 24 Ore*’s authority.
