Now that Fashion Month is over – with its relay of shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris – fashion begins! Or rather, it continues.
The landscape of trends and creative visions is no longer confined to the traditional four fashion capitals, with their respective fashion weeks and packed schedules of presentations and shows, but is expanding and being enriched by new directions, from Europe to Asia. It is precisely this alternative geographical landscape – and its detailed mapping – that forms the basis of the first October issue of HTSI. The monthly magazine from Il Sole 24 Ore will be available at newsagents from Friday 9th, with the special edition ‘A Passion for Fashion’.
The magazine features a host of key figures, starting with Miuccia Prada, who has just launched the Prada Galleria project: eight floors overlooking the Ottagono in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, where past and present, the historical archive and the boutique, artistic research and the fashion house’s photographic heritage are brought together. Emma McFerran, CEO of Lyst – the platform that aggregates 27,000 brands and stores from around the world – explains in an in-depth interview how the ‘intent algorithm’ works and how, in the age of AI, ten million everyday actions can be transformed into a precise forecast of upcoming trends.
Antoine Arnault reflects on the luxury market against the backdrop of the global economic slowdown and offers his solution: ‘to keep opening new shops and new ateliers and to keep the dream alive.’
We wander through the streets and shops of the Big Apple with creative director Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, pop into Ellen von Unwerth’s New York home, then fly to Los Angeles to the Philosophical Research Society to meet the actress Alia Shawkat.
