Inail, student accident reports +3.4% in 9 months

In the first nine months of the year, there were 53,563 accident reports submitted to Inail in all grades, up 3.4 per cent from 51,813 in 2024. There were seven fatal cases compared to six in 2024: this is what Inail's open data indicates, recalling that the data are provisional.

Of the approximately 54,000 accident reports, explains Inail, 1,299 concerned students involved in transversal skills and guidance (Pcto) pathways, now called 'school-to-work training', a reduction of 11.1% compared to 2024.

The incidence of accidents occurring to students accounts for 12.3% of the total number of reported accidents in 2025. 42% involve female students (+3.1% increase between 2024 and 2025), 58% students (+3.5%). Three out of four accidents involve students under 15 years of age, a quarter those aged 15 and over.

Lombardy is the region with the highest number of complaints (23% of the national total, +4.9% over 2024), followed by Veneto (13%, +11.3%), Emilia-Romagna (12%, +1.0%) and Piedmont (10%, +6.9%). 95% of the complaints concern students in state schools, the remaining 5% students in non-state and public schools.
