In March 2025, 25,797 accident reports were submitted to Inail by students of all levels, up 1.9 per cent from 25,322 in 2024. This was stated by Inail in its update of the reports of accidents and occupational diseases for the month of March 2025. The incidence of injuries occurring to students accounts for 18.1% of the total number of complaints registered in 2025. 43% involve female students (+2.1% increase between 2024 and 2025), 57% students (+1.7%). Three out of four injuries concern students under 15, a quarter those aged 15 and over. Lombardy is the region with the most complaints (23% of the national total, +3.4% over 2024), followed by Veneto (12%, +8.2%), Emilia Romagna (11%, -3.5%) and Piedmont (11%, +9.9%). 96% of the complaints concerned students in state schools, the remaining 4% students in non-state and public schools. Approximately 600 injuries were reported by students involved in the transversal skills and guidance (PCTO) pathways..
