Tax revenue increase, Casasco (FI): 'Taxes can be reduced for the middle class'
The party's economics chief: 'With a projected annual increase of EUR 17 billion, a quarter of this amount, i.e. EUR 4.2 billion, should be invested in lowering taxes for the middle class from 35 to 33 per cent up to EUR 60,000'

The increase in tax revenues certified by Bankitalia in the first five months of 2025 prompted Maurizio Casasco, Forza Italia deputy and the party's economy manager, to send a message to the centre-right's allies in view of the next manoeuvre: "There are the resources to lower taxes for the middle class. "In the first six months of 2025, as certified by Bankitalia data, tax revenues amounted to 257.3 billion, an increase of 3.4%, or 8.5 billion more than in the same period of the previous year. Therefore,' says Casasco, 'with an annual forecast of an increase of 17 billion, we need to invest a quarter of this amount, i.e. 4.2 billion, in lowering taxes to the middle class from 35 to 33 per cent up to 60 thousand euro'.
The FI proposal: reduction of Irpef from 35 to 33% up to 60,000 euro
"It is now imperative for the state to incentivise, through the tax system, business investment and reduce taxes on households, particularly the middle class, channelling these increased revenues within the social economic system," he continued, "Special attention must be paid to the Fund for Reducing the Tax Burden provided for in the law established in 2014 and revised in 2022. A law that envisages that this condition will be permanent, but which must be attentive so that the application of this Fund is real and addressed to the very object of the fund, so that it is not just a mere legislative instrument but takes the form of a social economic intervention. The reduction of Irpef from 35 per cent to 33 per cent up to 60,000 euro is a Forza Italia workhorse,' he stressed.
