Industry: Istat, producer prices down 0.2% in May, up 7.3% year-on-year

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - In May, industrial producer prices fell by 0.2% month-on-month and rose by 7.3% year-on-year (compared with +6.8% in April). This was reported by Istat, which added that on the domestic market, prices fell by 0.5% compared with April and rose by 9.1% year-on-year (from +8.8% the previous month). Excluding the energy sector, prices recorded a month-on-month increase of 0.4% and a year-on-year rise of 2.4% (up from +2% in April). On the export market, prices rose by 0.6% month-on-month (+0.9% in the euro area, +0.3% in the non-euro area) and by 2.7% year-on-year (+3.1% in the euro area, +2.4% in the non-euro area).
