Trentino is increasingly becoming a hub for innovation and a platform for collaboration between institutions, the research sector, businesses, young people and citizens.
The planning process for the new Innovation Festival, which is to be held in Rovereto from 14 to 16 October 2027, officially began yesterday. Organised by the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Municipality of Rovereto, Trentino Marketing and Trentino Sviluppo, and the Rovereto Vallagarina and Monte Baldo Tourist Board, the new event builds on and revitalises theexperience gained from the Wired Next Fest Trentino, which, from 2023 to 2025, successfully raised the profile of Trentino’s research and innovation system in the media and provided a further opportunity for dialogue and exchange between the local area and the leading organisations in the sector on the national and international stage.
This venture, which previously came to an end with the closure of *Wired Italia*, is now being relaunched with a new format. Among the partners of this new venture is the *Il Sole 24 ORE* Group, which will contribute to the project’s conceptual, scientific and editorial development.
The new course is now underway
Over the coming months, the organisation of the event will involve the region’s leading institutional, scientific and economic stakeholders and will be open to further collaborations. The initiative has, in fact, been designed to create an opportunity for discussion and in-depth analysis of issues crucial to the development of the economy and society – open to businesses and the general public – whilst at the same time consolidating Trentino’s role as a region dedicated to innovation.
“The Festival has been, and aims to become even more so in the future, a key player on the national and international innovation scene: for this reason, the Province reaffirms its commitment to continuing to invest in an event that consolidates Rovereto’s position as a hub for technological and scientific exchange,” said Achille Spinelli, Vice-President and Councillor for Economic Development, Employment, Family, Universities and Research of the Autonomous Province of Trento. “Building on our collaboration with a partner such as the Il Sole 24 ORE Group, we want the excellence of our research to move beyond the laboratories to engage with the public, inspire young people and empower businesses,” he added.”
