The first edition of the FIFA Club World Cup will be played from 15 June to 13 July 2025 in the United States. The tournament will begin at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami with Lionel Messi's Inter Miami home team taking on Egypt's Al Ahly. The tournament will see 32 clubs from around the world face each other over a 29-day period, leading up to the final act at MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey, on Sunday 13 July 2025. "Since 1930 the World Cup has existed for national teams, it was time for the clubs to get a new structure too. A new era begins for the best players and the best clubs who will face each other in the summer of 2025. It is a month of competition between the best in the world," Fifa president Gianni Infantino said during the draw. "It is a dress rehearsal for the 2026 World Cup. Any fan from anywhere in the world will be able to watch the matches for free."
Fifa's chief business officer Romy Gai's revenues from the 2025 Club World Cup are meanwhile beginning to soar. The exclusive global agreement signed with Dazn for free-to-air broadcasting of the 63 matches is worth USD 1 billion (Dazn will be able to leverage local sub-licences for free-to-air broadcasting to linear channels and advertising revenues, since Fifa, unlike Uefa, only grants its sponsors a negotiating option). The sponsors announced so far are three: Hisense, AB InBev, the world's largest beer producer, and Bank of America. Another 2-3 partnerships will be announced later this year. In total, there will be 12 sponsors of the first World Cup for clubs, including Adidas and Coca Cola, for a total revenue of at least 900 million. Finally, the ticketing and hospitality area should generate another 400 million. The total revenue will therefore approach USD 2.5 billion. The premiums being negotiated should be no less than 800/900 million.
