Banca Investis, an independent institution with headquarters in Turin, specialising in the management of customers' total assets (financial, securities, real estate and corporate), is focusing on Northwest Italy, strengthening its network of bankers. Giovanni Schiaffino, the group's head of private banking, tells us about it, starting with a premise: 'Businesses in the Northwest,' he says, 'have shown remarkable resilience in recent years, even compared to other areas of the country. Some key factors have contributed to this resilience, such as the diversification of export markets. Companies in the area, particularly those in Piedmont and Lombardy, tend to have a broad and diversified export base, which reduces dependence on geopolitically sensitive areas'.
Sectors such as automotive, aerospace and agribusiness, he continues, 'have an established international customer base in America, Europe and Asia, which has allowed them to compensate for any losses in specific markets. In addition, the high level of digitalisation and innovation has enabled companies in the area to adapt more quickly to the changes imposed by the crisis: they have invested in new technologies, automation and flexible production processes, which has made them more responsive to disruptions in the supply chain and capable of finding alternative solutions'. Precisely in the Northwest, Schiaffino clarifies, 'we are strengthening our presence, through a strategy that focuses on proximity, skills and technology. In Liguria, and in Genoa in particular, we have recently strengthened our network of private bankers, integrating it with skills that intercept the needs of a business fabric that is solid but in transformation, and which today demands evolved responses in terms of asset management and planning. At the same time, we are working to raise awareness of Niwa, our digital platform that puts artificial intelligence at the service of financial advice, making it accessible everywhere but with a real banker always at the client's side'.
In Liguria, moreover, Investis has actively participated in the Sarzana Timeless festival in recent weeks. Taking on the role, says Schiaffino, "as official sponsor of the 2025 edition of the meeting, the bank chose to support an event that celebrates 'timeless' entrepreneurial stories, capable of combining tradition and innovation, values that are also fundamental to our strategy. We would like to be considered partners in the development of these winning challenges'.
In 2024, the manager clarifies, the bank's total managed assets in Italy reached 5.74 billion, compared to 4.45 billion in 2023, of which almost 300 million in Genoa alone. "In Liguria," he says, "our presence starts from the headquarters in the capital, a strategic hub for the entire region. Then we put in place cross-functional teams, which move across the entire territory, according to needs, capable of activating different skills, depending on the client's requirements. Our approach is flexible and goes beyond the classic logic of private banking; it is increasingly becoming a wealth management model: it is we who go out to meet people. Liguria, and Genoa in particular, a city undergoing a wonderful transformation and urban and commercial revaluation, is an area rich in entrepreneurial tradition and with a high concentration of family assets. These, often rooted in long-term activities and linked to the very history of the territory, require a customised approach that respects their specificity'.
