Boating: investment is on the rise in north-eastern Sardinia
Investment in the boating sector is on the rise in north-eastern Sardinia. D-Marin, a premium marina group (which currently manages 27 marinas across nine countries, with over 14,000 berths, of which more than 1,000 are dedicated to superyachts, serving over 50,000 customers a year), has ushered in a new phase of its expansion in Italia with the launch of the first operational phase of Molo Brin, the new marina dedicated to maxi yachts situated in the heart of Olbia. The facility, which began welcoming its first vessels on 2 August, offers 20 berths for yachts ranging from 40 to 150 metres. Furthermore, it will be able to accommodate some of the world’s largest yachts. Furthermore, the facility benefits from a prime location due to its proximity to the city centre, Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and the ferry terminal. What’s more, from Olbia, yachts can easily reach some of the Mediterranean’s most renowned destinations, including the Costa Smeralda, Tavolara, the Maddalena Archipelago and Corsica.
“The launch of operations at Molo Brin marks a significant milestone for D-Marin and for the city of Olbia,” commented Andrea De Santis, COO of D-Marin. “ “The vision and commitment of Gian Pietro Sirca, a board member at Moys, have helped breathe new life into this strategic part of the city’s waterfront, making it possible to create a facility dedicated to large yachts.”
The facility will provide essential services, including assistance with mooring and unmooring, security, surveillance and parking. “At this stage,” the group emphasises, “access will be restricted to the owners and crews of yachts moored at the facility.”
Once completed, the project will be operational from June 2027 and, as the business group points out, will include the D-Marin offices, new visitor and reception areas, as well as spaces dedicated to catering, thereby helping to enhance the entire Olbia waterfront.
“The digital services and benefits reserved for D-Marin customers will also be rolled out gradually at Molo Brin,” the company concludes, “including the D-Marin App for managing moorings, smart technologies for monitoring boats, and exclusive services dedicated to the Group’s customers.”
