The cease-fire between Israel and Iran was allegedly agreed upon through the mediation of Qatar and the United States. This is what emerges from a background signed by Barak Ravid, Washington correspondent of Axios, who cites sources familiar with the matter.
In particular, after the attack on the US base, Iran reportedly sent a message to the White House via Qatar stating that it would not carry out any further attacks and that its response had ended. The White House reportedly replied in turn, emphasising that it would not respond militarily to the Iranian attack and that the US was ready to resume negotiations on a nuclear deal.
"Talks then continued between the United States and Israel and between Qatar and Iran to agree on the terms of the ceasefire and when it would begin." Ravid then added: "A senior White House official told me that during Monday night's ceasefire talks, President Trump spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu."
