Iran: Tehran says, “It will be the only country to decide the fate of the funds released by the US”

Iran will be “the only country” authorised to decide how to use the assets to be returned by the United States. This was stated by a senior Iranian official, whilst Washington has suggested that their return could be subject to conditions, including agricultural contracts. “Iran is the only country to decide the fate of the assets to be returned, and no other country or entity will have a say in how these assets are to be used by Iran,” said Ali Bahreini, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, at a press conference in Geneva.
