Gaza: Two IDF reservists killed in accidental drone explosion
Two reservists from the Israel Defence Forces, who were serving in the 7007th Battalion of the Jerusalem Brigade, were killed yesterday after a small explosive drone they were operating in the Gaza Strip crashed for unknown reasons and exploded shortly afterwards. This was announced by the army. According to a preliminary army investigation, yesterday afternoon the two soldiers were operating FPV (first-person view) drones known as ‘Atalef’ – the Hebrew word for ‘bat’ – from a military post located in the army’s buffer zone in the north of the Gaza Strip. The Times of Israel reports that the first drone completed its planned mission, whilst a second, during take-off, crashed inside the military post for reasons yet to be determined. The soldiers approached the crashed drone a few minutes later and retrieved it; at that point, the device exploded, fatally injuring them, according to initial findings. The two were taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, where they were pronounced dead.

Media: ‘Iran has proposed a seven-day ceasefire plan to the US’
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran has proposed a seven-day plan to Washington to cease hostilities, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and subsequently begin in-depth talks on the country’s nuclear programme. The news was reported by the New York Times, which stated that Araghchi made the remarks to journalists during a briefing on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. He stated that Iran is ready to implement the plan as soon as Washington gives its approval, adding that “it would be preferable” to reach an agreement before the US mid-term elections.

Yemen: Houthis: ‘Saudi military sites near the border have been attacked’
The Houthis have attacked several military positions in Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni rebel group announced this, stating that it had struck the al-Tuwal area in Jizan and the missile positions at the Al-Dagharir camp, on the border with Saudi Arabia. Riyadh has not confirmed the attacks.
