The agreement between Washington and Tehran to end the war is “a historic document”, as well as “a message from a strong Iran. Peace will be achieved on the basis of mutual respect”. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote this in a post on the social media platform X. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been firmly committed to global peace,” he said, “whilst preserving its dignity and independence, as well as regional progress and cooperation.”
