Isee, by January the Inps will communicate the updated values
New calculation methods already operational, but attestation remains ordinary
The Isee 2026 campaign to update the indicator of the equivalent economic situation of families, which defines access to social benefits and, in some cases, the amount due, has officially begun. Inps reports that in the first week alone, 435,000 files have already been transmitted via the single Isee portal on the institute's website (in the first two months of the year, 75% of the Dsu are sent, to guarantee the continuity of benefits) and the Cafes have been operational for a few days, with agendas already full of appointments.
The Budget Law for 2026, which introduces the new rules for calculating the Isee for five social benefits, was published in the Official Gazette on 30 December and the Isee 2026 campaign started just two days later, on 1 January. "Despite the timeframe imposed by the legislation,' explains Rocco Lauria, central director of Inclusion and family and parenting support at the Inps, 'we managed to update all the IT systems in time. No one will have to resend the Dsu during the course of the year, the transmission of the data by the families will only take place once, and all the dossiers managed since the beginning of the year will obtain 'the new Isee value' automatically'.
New and Critical Issues
The institute assures that the new deductibles for the main dwelling and the new equivalence scale are already applied for the calculation of the indicator for the purposes of the five benefits concerned (inclusion allowance, job training support, single allowance, nest bonus and newborn bonus). "It has only been necessary to make a few minor IT changes on the platform for the online compilation of the model," explains Lauria, who has been putting IT technicians to work since October, when the first draft of the Budget Bill was approved.
The problem is that currently the value of the 'new Isee family' (aimed at calculating the five benefits affected by the changes) is not communicated to the applicant: for the time being, the Isee certificate remains the ordinary one and it is not yet possible to know the value of the indicator 'without first home' and with the more favourable equivalence scale for those who have children.
"We will have to show the result to people," commented the Inps director, "because on that value, for example, depends the amount due of the single cheque. This is now our priority and by the end of January we will be able to communicate it through the Inps single portal to those who have already processed the indicator'.
