Israel continues to strike Lebanon: 13 dead in the south
Israeli raids continue despite the ceasefire between Hezbollah, a pro-Iranian group, and Israel, in force since 17 April
Israeli military operations in Lebanon do not stop. The death toll of Israeli air raids on southern Lebanon has risen to at least 13, according to the Ministry of Health in Beirut. According to a ministry statement, eight people, including a child and two women, were killed and 21 others wounded, including two children and a woman, in the attacks on the village of Habboush, whose residents had been asked to evacuate by the Israeli army.
The official Lebanese news agency reported "a series of intense raids ... just under an hour after the Israeli warning'. In Habboush, an AFP photographer saw columns of smoke rising from the bombs. Another attack in the village of Zrariyeh, in the Sidon region, killed four people, including two women, and wounded four others, including a child and a woman, the ministry said. According to the same source, one woman was killed and seven people were injured in the district of the coastal city of Tyre. The Israeli army has ordered the inhabitants of several towns and villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate, continuing the forced displacement of the population in the area despite the ceasefire, writes Al-Jazeera. The latest order of forced displacement affects Qaaqaait al-Jisr, Adchit al-Shaqif, Jebchit, Ebba, Kfar Jouz, Harouf, al-Duwayr, Deir ez-Zahrani and Habboush, the Israeli army said on X-Day.
In another statement, also this morning, the Israeli army stated that "yesterday, Friday, the Israeli army struck Hezbollah terrorist targets in southern Lebanon and eliminated Hezbollah terrorists operating near Israeli soldiers. As part of these attacks, the Israeli army dismantled more than 50 Hezbollah facilities in different areas of southern Lebanon'.
