Israeli media: at least 10 casualties from IDF attack in the centre of the Gaza Strip
The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it had hit a militant involved in smuggling weapons for Hamas
At least ten people were reportedly killed and dozens injured in an IDF attack east of the Al-Mawasi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Israeli news site Ynet.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it had struck on Saturday in the central part of the Gaza Strip killing Ali Ahmad Ali Amrain, described as a militant involved in arms smuggling for Hamas. According to the IDF, Amrain had worked throughout the war to supply various weapons destined for the Palestinian Islamist movement, which were then used to carry out attacks in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army says it decided to hit him to "remove the threat" to its own troops.
Prior to the attack, the IDF added, measures would be taken to limit damage to civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence activities. Finally, the Israeli army clarified that its troops in the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to eliminate any immediate threat.
It is unclear whether the attack announced by the IDF is the same one, which, according to Ynet, claimed at least ten victims.
